This is my new Blog

As above, is also below.

This is my new blog. Here, I will write ideas, stories, words for the general public to read, as well as the odd photo and video. It’s more a personal thing; I like to keep records of things everywhere; I have 4 Moleskines of varying degrees of fullness and content, I have a sort of scrapbook diary book which I now rarely fill in, not to mention Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook etc. And now this. Is it overkill? Am I becoming bogged down with a digitised self? Do I have too many ‘outlets’ for myself?

I used to be addicted to Facebook, which died down. Now I just use it for keeping in touch with family and friends. Then I got hooked on Twitter. That also died down. I’m not sure what I use that for really. Currently, I’m using Tumblr quite a lot, although it seems like I’m just becoming further and further away from it.

Perhaps my trouble is that I don’t stick with something for long enough that it becomes worthwhile. That’s going to change. This blog signifies something for me. I plan to move to America once I’ve finished my very-useful-once-completed degree in Composition, and I plan to document things which will hopefully and ultimately lead to that. After I reach America, who knows? I’ll hopefully get a job, grow up, meet someone, settle down and eventually die happy.

That is, after all, my dream.

  1. Congratulations on the new blog, and good luck on the eventual move. I have also bounced around from blog to Facebook to new blog to Twitter to other new blog, just trying to figure out what works for me. Oh, and I left the USA on December 8, 1999. I think I’m going back in June, with my lovely Australian bride and our lovely Calico cat, age 11, rescued from the Hong Kong SPCA. And then we’ll probably move again. I guess my blog is the closest thing I have to roots.
